Angie Le Mar, born on October 27, 1965, in Lewisham, London, England, is a pioneering British comedian, actor, writer, director, presenter, and producer. Raised in a Jamaican household with four older brothers, she faced academic challenges due to undiagnosed dyslexia until after her education. In 1985, Le Mar began her comedy career, initially performing at events within the Black community. She gained prominence in the 1990s, sharing stages with comedians like Felix Dexter and Curtis Walker. Notably, she became the first Black British performer at Harlem's Apollo Theatre and achieved the first sell-out show by a female Black comedian in London's West End.
